Quantance, a US-based mobile device battery manufacturer backed by Japan-based phone operator NTT Docomo’s corporate venturing unit, has raised $12m in its series D round from its existing investors.
In January, Quantance said it had raised $1.65m from five investors, according to a regulatory filing first seen by data providers CB Insights.
In October 2011, Quantance, which was formerly known as Lotus Integrated, secured $11m of series C funding from DoCoMo Capital, the corporate venturing unit belonging to Japan-based mobile communication company DoCoMo, and venture capital (VC) firms TD Fund, Granite Ventures and InterWest Partners.
Quantance’s series B round raised $12m from the same investors, in November 2008, while Granite, InterWest and VC firm CampVentures were the backers for Quantance’s $7m September 2006 series A round.
