US-based talent recruiting platform Wade & Wendy has raised $4m in its seed funding from a consortium including US-based instant communication technology provider Slack and Randstad Innovation Fund (RIF), the corporate venturing unit launched by human resources (HR) firm Randstad, and a number of other strategic and venture capital investors.
Other investors included VC firms Indicator Ventures, FFVC and Converge.
Wade and Wendy uses artificial intelligence to manage the hiring process and capture data.
Wade is an artificially intelligent career assistant serving as a resource that supports an individual throughout their job search and career. Wendy is an artificially intelligent recruiting assistant, leveraging data that cross-references with a company’s organizational chart in order to identify the possible candidates.
Additionally, Wendy is trained as a team member, handling or assisting in the many roles and responsibilities of a hiring manager.
Since there is no user interface and all data and analysis is done on the backend, the platform fits into the users’ conversational workflow, such as Gmail and Slack.
