Aymerik Renard has joined US-based data storage company SanDisk as director of venture capital management.
Renard was formerly the vice president of an accelerator owned by product development and supply chain management services provider PCH International from June 2011 to January 2014, and prior to that a partner at Innovacom Venture Capital, founding its North American office.
In addition to these roles, Renard has also acted as a mentor at hardware incubator Lemons Labs, R/GA Connected Devices Accelerator and Highway1, an incubator subsidiary of PCH that he co-founded.
The move comes as John M Mascarenas, formerly the director and consultant for strategic investments at SanDisk, leaves to take up the position of senior director of strategic investments at Japan-based electronics product maker Toshiba.
SanDisk has invested in several IT companies over the past year, including Nexanta, Magisto, Tegile Systems and Pebbles Interfaces. It also exited data storage company Whiptail when it was acquired by Cisco in September.
