Australia-based beverage bottling service provider Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) has promoted Alix Rimington to head of its innovation and technology investment division, Amatil X.
Prior to joining CCA, Rimington had worked for telecommunications firm Telstra for a decade from 2003. She was group manager for corporate affairs across divisions including corporate venturing arm Telstra Ventures during her last two years at the company.
CCA hired Rimington in early 2015 as general manager of public affairs and communications before naming her an executive for its group leadership team the year after.
Rimington co-founded Amatil X with Natalie Collins, head of Xcelerate, CCA’s six-month accelerator scheme in Australia and New Zealand, in April 2018. The company appointed Rimington head of disruptive innovation and new ventures and named Collins head of emerging ventures nine months later.
In her new role, Rimington will manage Amatil X’s overall activity including CCA’s corporate venturing subsidiary, AX Ventures.
AX Ventures has backed restaurant self-service ordering system developer TabSquare and small business-focused data analytics platform Aider, the latter through a vehicle dubbed Amatil X Early Stage Venture Fund. It has also launched Amatil X Academy, a six-month accelerator in Indonesia, in April 2019.
