Dina Routhier, formerly a managing director at Stanley Ventures, the corporate venture capital (CVC) vehicle for US-based hardware product maker Stanley Black & Decker, has been promoted to lead the unit.
Routhier will assume a president position and has replaced 2019 Global Corporate Venturing Powerlist member Larry Harper, who had led Stanley Ventures as vice-president for more than five years before recently retiring.
The news of her promotion came as Routhier ranked first in GCV’s Emerging Leaders 2021 roster, after being included in GCV’s Rising Stars list in 2019.
Routhier told GCV: “I am looking forward to extending on the rock-solid foundation built by my predecessor, Larry Harper. In just four years, our team has delivered clear strategic value to Stanley’s business units.
“We have invested in 37 exciting companies, have seven portfolio company commercial partnerships generating new sources of revenue for Stanley, have entered new adjacent markets and have acquired two of our portfolio companies.
“My goal is to usher Stanley Ventures successfully into an expansion phase, where we will supplement our experienced investment team with the development and integration of a CVC and business development function.
“The goal of that function will be to work closely with the existing portfolio to maximise the strategic value of the relationship for both the startup and for Stanley.”
