RP-Sanjiv Goenka reaches for Editorji shares

Conglomerate RP-Sanjiv Goenka has paid an undisclosed sum for a 51% stake in Editorji Technologies, an India-based video news app developer backed by corporates Bharti Airtel and HT Media, the Economic Times reported yesterday.

Editorji has built a mobile app that provides news content through 15-second videos. RP-Sanjiv Goenka bought the shares through a combination of primary and secondary investment, though the companies have not disclosed the identity of any selling shareholders.

HT Media, the media company that owns daily newspaper Hindustan Times, had invested $1.5m in Editorji in May 2018 before Nettle Infrastructure Investments, an investment affiliate for telecommunications firm Bharti Airtel added $2.8m four months later.
