A subsidiary of industrial conglomerate RPG Group, has co-led a series A round of undisclosed size for India-based bot mitigation software developer ShieldSquare, YourStory has reported.
RPG Ventures co-led the round with venture capital fund Endiya Partners, participating alongside Anthill Ventures, StartupXseed, Venture Highway and undisclosed angel investors.
ShieldSquare’s technology helps its business customers identify and manage bots on their websites and apps, protecting against practices such as fraud or price scraping on e-commerce platforms.
The company raised $350,000 in 2014 from a group of 15 angel investors, before Venture Highway and assorted angel investors added an undisclosed amount in October 2016.
The deal came about a month after RPG Ventures paid $1m for a majority stake in Seniority, an India-based e-commerce company that sells care and lifestyle products aimed at senior citizens, according to the Economic Times. Seniority’s co-founders own the rest of the shares.
