Payman Saebi, general manager of ventures at UK-based logistics company Royal Mail Group, has left to work at local phone operator BT as head of strategy.
Royal Mail set up its ventures unit earlier this year with an entrepreneurs-in-residence programme for logistics (Royal Mail), retail (Post Office) and Parcelforce.
BT has been active in understanding the technologies emerging from Silicon Valley in the US and other regions with a local venture presence. BT and Belgium-based peer Belgacom invested $30m each for both to own 2.6% of online gaming company OnLive in 2010 but spun out its corporate incubator, Brightstar, in a partnership with venture capital firm New Venture Partners in 2003.
