Samsung’s corporate venturing unit and CrunchFund, a venture firm set up with the backing of technology company AOL, has helped Bitcasa, a cloud storage company, raise $7m.
Samsung Ventures and CrunchFund were joined in the series A round by venture firms Pelion Venture Partners, Horizons Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz and First Round Capital. The round takes Bitcasa to $9m raised in total.
The Bitcasa virtual storage model integrates infinite storage and other function across all devices for $10 per month.
