SBI gets in Habito for series C round

UK-based online mortgage broker Habito has completed a £35m ($45.5m) series C round that was co-led by financial services provider SBI, TechCrunch reported yesterday.

Venture capital firm Augmentum Fintech and collaborative investment platform Mojo.capital co-led the round with SBI. It also featured the UK government’s Future Fund and existing investors including Atomico, Ribbit Capital and Mosaic Ventures.

The round included the $6m Augmentum Fintech invested in the company in August 2019 as well as an undisclosed amount of convertible note financing.

Founded in 2015, Habito runs an online platform that helps homebuyers secure mortgages that fit their needs as well as monitor their existing mortgage.

The company has also begun offering its own mortgage products and is looking to expand into an end-to-end service that covers all aspects of the home buying transaction.

Habito raised $24m in a September 2017 series B round that was led by Atomico and backed by Ribbit Capital, Mosaic Ventures and Revolutionary (Ad)Ventures.

Ribbit Capital had led a $6.7m series A round for Habito in January the same year. Mosaic Ventures also took part in the series A, having led the company’s $2.2m seed round in 2016, participating alongside various angel investors.
