Israel-based cybersecurity software provider Secret Double Octopus closed a $6m series A round on Tuesday featuring media group Liberty Media, which invested through its Israel Venture Fund.
Venture capital firms Jerusalem Venture Partners (JVP), Iris Capital and Benhamou Global Ventures also participated in the round along with angel investor Yaniv Tal.
Secret Double Octopus designs technology that facilitates keyless connectivity, authentication and data protection for cloud, mobile and internet-of-things devices.
The company graduated from JVP’s Cyber Labs incubator in 2015 before raising $1.5m in a JVP-backed seed round in January 2016, according to TechCrunch.
Raz Rafaeli, CEO of Secret Double Octopus, said: “Our multi-shield approach to connectivity, specifically as it relates to authentication, provides customers with both topflight security and a seamless user experience which is critical when countering the increasing levels of sophistication today’s hackers demonstrate.
“We are happy that our new investors, representing key strategic partners, share our vision and look forward to expanding our presence in multiple markets.”
The company will use the funding to further its research and development plans and push out into key markets such as the US and Europe.
