Sennder, a Germany-based logistics software developer backed by industrial equipment and appliance producer Siemens and automotive manufacturer Scania, merged with France-headquartered shipping services portal Everoad yesterday.
Founded in 2015, Sennder markets an online platform where clients can book trucking services from a 7,500-strong fleet in order to transport goods across Europe and track journeys in real time.
Formerly known as Convargo, Everoad offers a similar service, allowing for cross-border delivery from more than 6,000 courier partners. The amalgamated company, dubbed Everoad by Sennder, will have an increased foothold in the European market.
Sennder had raised more than $100m in funding, most recently securing $70m in series C funding from Siemens’ Next47 unit, Scania subsidiary Scania Growth Capital, Lakestar, Accel, H14, HV Holtzbrinck Ventures and Project A at a $300m valuation in July 2019.
Inventure Partners and Earlybird Venture Capital co-led a $19m series A round for Everoad in 2017 that included angel investors Tony Fadell, Patrick Sayer, Oskar Hartmann, Roger Crook, Clément Benoit and Romain Afflelou that took its total funding to $20.7m.
