Sentilla secures $15m fundraising

US-based energy management software company Sentilla has closed a $15m round of series C funding, led by SingTel Innov8, the corporate venturing unit of Singapore Telecommunications. Venture capital funds Onset Ventures and Claremont Creek Ventures also participated.

Earlier in the month Sentilla announced it had secured $4.5m from SingTel in return for a 23.4% stake, but the precise amounts invested and stakes received by each backer were not disclosed.

Claremont Creek and Onset had previously invested in both Sentilla’s $3.9m series A round, in 2006, and its series B round, which raised $7.5m in January 2009.

Yvonne Kwek, chief executive officer of SingTel Innov8, said: "Sentilla’s technology of maximizing business value from IT organizations addresses a critical need – not just for the telecommunications industry, but also in other enterprises that are looking to leverage IT to drive greater revenue and profitability."

Sentilla’s software allows companies to monitor and analyse workloads at their data centres, allowing them to be run more efficiently and cost effectively. Sentilla plans to use the capital to expand sales and marketing for its services.
