Shipper boxes up series A funds

Indonesia-based logistics services platform Shipper has received up to $20m in series A funding from investors including media and e-commerce group Naspers, DealStreetAsia reported yesterday, citing two people aware of the matter.

Venture capital firms Lightspeed Venture Partners, Insignia Ventures Partners and AC Ventures reportedly also took part in the round.

Founded in 2017, Shipper has built an online platform where users can access and compare services from a range of shipping partners. The capital will support recruitment and expansion while protecting its business from the effects of the coronavirus lockdown.

The round came after the company raised $5m in a September 2019 seed round featuring Lightspeed Venture Partners and Insignia Ventures Partners as well as Floodgate, Y Combinator and Convergence Ventures, which subsequently merged with Agaeti Ventures to form AC Ventures.
