Human resources firm Recruit Holdings has acquired the assets of Simply Hired, a US-based online recruitment platform backed by media firm International Data Group (IDG), for an undisclosed amount.
Simply Hired runs an online job listings platform with around 30 million users, but announced in May it would shut down the service at the end of June because of a forthcoming acquisition.
The company had raised about $34m in venture funding since it was founded in 2004, $12m of which came in a 2014 series D round backed by IDG Ventures, the US venture capital affiliate of IDG, as well as Foundation Capital and City National Bank.
Fox Interactive, a subsidiary of media group News International, took part in a $13.5m round for Simply Hired in 2006, as did Foundation Capital. Its backers also include Garage Technology Ventures and a host of angel investors.
Simply Hired will continue to operate under its own name, as a publishing partner of Indeed, the US-based job listings platform Recruit bought in 2012.
