Codeanywhere, a US-based provider of cloud-based editing technology for software developers, has raised $600,000 series A investment from World Wide Web Hosting, the parent company of Site5 web hosting.
The investment will be used to continue focus on scalability and the development of new features, including collaboration tools and fully featured native mobile apps.
Ben Welch-Bolen, founder of Site5, said: “We view our investment today as an opportunity to accelerate the growth of a technology that will fundamentally shape the behavior of developers around the world.”
Ivan Burazin, co-founder of Codeanywhere, said: “Our goal is to become the industry-standard in cloud development, and fundamentally change the way a generation of developers builds software.”
Codeanywhere was originally known as PHPanywhere, until 2011.
