Skycatch, a US-based drone manufacturer, has raised $13.2m in equity funding, according to a regulatory filing seen by news provider VentureBeat.
VentureBeat said Avalon Venture’s Richard Levandov is listed as a director, “signalling that Avalon likely led the round and Levandov is joining the board as a result”. Wireless telecommunications company Qualcomm also participated as part of the latest round.
“We converted into the round they just announced, but we do not own a lot of the company,” one investment manager said.
“They are working on some pretty interesting things, and our corporate folks are having some good discussions around technology and roadmap.”
Skycatch previously raised $3.2m in seed funding in 2013, and its investors also include internet company Google’s corporate venturing unit Google Ventures, Sherpalo, FF Venture Capital, VegasTechfund, Aventura and Sierra Maya Ventures, according to AngelList.
