France-based cloud infrastructure technology provider Platform.sh has received $34m in series C funding from investors including SNCF Digital Ventures, the corporate venturing vehicle for rail operator SNCF.
The round was led by venture capital firm Partech Ventures and included Idinvest Partners, Benhamou Global Ventures and Hi Inov. It boosted the total raised by Platform.sh to approximately $47m.
Formerly known as Commerce Guys, Platform.sh has developed a cloud-based hosting platform that can rapidly clone live web applications for testing by development teams. It will put the series C proceeds into an expansion drive in the US.
Frederic Plais, chief executive of Platform.sh, said: “The customer traction and organic growth we have seen over the past 12 months – especially in North America – made it clear that we are ready to scale on a global level.”
VC fund Isai provided about $1m in seed capital for Platform.sh in 2010 before the company added $5m in a 2012 series A round led by Alven Capital that also featured Open Ocean Capital.
Hi Inov subsequently led a $7.3m series B round for Platform.sh two years later, investing together with Alven Capital and Open Ocean Capital.
