Sobot sucks in series C funds

Cloud services provider Yonyou has co-led a RMB210m ($29.5m) series C round for China-based smart customer service software developer Sobot with venture capital fund Yunqi Capital.

Founded in 2014, Sobot provides artificial intelligence and big data-equipped software that automates customer service for organisations, both pre-sale and post-sale.

The series C proceeds will be used to strengthen Sobot’s marketing capabilities and product development. It also intends to bolster its partnerships as it expands the ecosystem around its products.

The company said this week it has now closed five rounds of funding and identified VC firm ZhenFund and VC group IDG Capital as shareholders. Yunqi Capital reportedly participated in the series C as an existing investor.
