Punchbowl Software, a US-based online party planning company backed by Intel Capital, has acquired peer Socializr for an undisclosed amount, according to news provider VentureBeat.
Punchbowl raised $2.1m in its series A round in September 2008 from Intel Capital, the corporate venturing unit of semiconductor company Intel, venture capital (VC) firm Contour Venture Partners and eCoast Angels.
Intel Capital and eCoast had provided the seed money to Punchbowl 11 months earlier.
Socializr was started by Jonathan Abrams, the founder of social networking comapny Friendster, and reportedly raised between $2.5m and $3m from VC Rembrandt Venture Partners and angels.
