SoftBank produces funding for Iyuno Media

Singapore-based media localisation service Iyuno Media has secured $23.5m in funding from SoftBank Ventures, a corporate venturing subsidiary of telecommunications and internet conglomerate SoftBank, DealStreetAsia reported on Monday.

Iyuno Media offers localisation and post-production services to broadcasters and over-the-top content providers, helping them to tailor their content to local viewers.

The company’s products include a cloud-based tool to subtitle content and a collaborative version of the same tool as well as a closed caption encoder and a marketplace for localisation companies.

Iyuno currently operates offices in 10 locations across the world and employs 320 staff who process 7,000 hours of captioning and subtitling each month.

SoftBank intends to leverage its investment to help bring the company’s technology to other industry applications, including neural machine translation and voice synthesis. Iyuno has not disclosed any previous funding.
