Solexel, a US-based solar panel maker formerly known as Soltaix, last week raised $36.5m in its series C round from 10 investors, according to the company’s regulatory filing.
The company previously raised $15m in it’s a round in 2007 and an undisclosed amount in its B round a year later. Solexel lists as its investors Spirox Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of the eponymous Taiwan-based technology distributor, and venture capital firms Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Technology Partners, DAG Ventures, Gentry, Northgate Capital, Ecofin, Oak Hill Investment Management, Westly Group and Univest.
Spirox Ventures lists as its other portfolio companies: Xjet Solar, Synerchip, Mcube, FormFactor and DCG Systems, a number of which is has acted as distribtor to in Taiwan.
