US-based Sprig, a food delivery service backed by talent agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA), has closed down, according to TechCrunch.
Founded in 2013, Sprig worked with a team of chefs to source, cook and deliver a rotating menu of healthy meals within 15 minutes.
The company had raised a total of $56.7m in total, most recently securing $45m in a series B round in 2015 led by Social Capital. CAA Ventures, the talent agency’s investment arm, also contributed to the series B round.
The series B round also featured IDG Ventures, Greylock Partners, Sozo-Truebridge, Lumia Capital and assorted angel investors.
The company’s remaining backers included Battery Ventures and Accel.
