Sprinklr looks to Get Satisfaction in acquisition

Social media management company Sprinkler acquired Get Satisfaction, the US-based creator of an online customer feedback platform, yesterday for an undisclosed sum, providing an exit to media company O’Reilly Media.

Get Satisfaction’s platform powers more than 1,000 online communities for companies looking to source customer feedback.

Sprinkler claims the deal has made it the only vendor to offer a customer experience management platform that spans external social networks like Facebook or Twitter, as well as companies’ own websites, blogs, and communities.

Get Satisfaction had raised approximately $21m in venture funding, most recently securing $10m from a series B round led by InterWest Partners that also included O’Reilly’s corporate venturing unit O’Reilly Alphatech Ventures (OATV), Azure Capital Partners and First Round Capital.

OATV had been an investor in the company since seed stage. Other past investors include Freestyle Capital, Adaptive Path, Jeff Clavier, Mike Brown and Jason Schultz.

Sprinklr’s acquisition of Get Satisfaction comes a week after it raised $46m from Intel Capital, the corporate venturing unit of semiconductor technology provider Intel, Battery Ventures and Iconiq Capital at a valuation of more than $1bn.
