US-based financial education app developer Stackin’ secured $12.6m yesterday in a series B round that included Experian Ventures, credit scoring services provider Experian’s strategic investment arm.
Venture capital firm Octopus Ventures led the round, which also featured Cherry Tree Investments, Dig Ventures, Mucker Capital, Unlock Venture Partners, TechStars and Wavemaker Partners.
Stackin’ has created a text message-based platform that assists users with saving, managing and investing their money.
Octopus Ventures principal Marieke Christmann is joining the company’s board of directors in connection with the round, which will fund its entry into the UK along with technology development and the expansion of its products and services.
Experian Ventures, Dig Ventures and Cherry Tree Investments co-led the company’s $4m series A round in July 2019, investing with Social Leverage, Wavemaker Partners and Mucker Capital. Its earlier backers include PLG Ventures, Techstars and Clocktower Technology Ventures.
