Human resources software provider Cornerstone OnDemand has led a $15m series B round for US-based spatial computing technology developer Talespin.
Consumer electronics producer HTC also took part in the round, as did existing investors including agricultural insurance provider Farmers Insurance Exchange.
Talespin has created an extended reality (XR) system that uses spatial computing to enable businesses to teach new skills to their workforce. Cornerstone will offer Talespin’s virtual reality products to its customers and integrate it with its Cornerstone Learning Management system.
Jason Gold, Cornerstone’s vice-president of finance, corporate development and investor relations, said: “We share Talespin’s vision that the workforce needs innovative solutions to stay competitive, maximise opportunity and increase employee satisfaction.
“We have been incredibly impressed with Talespin’s technology, leadership team and vision to transform the workplace through XR. Talespin’s technology is a perfect fit in our suite of products, and we look forward to working together to deliver great solutions for our customers.”
The company has not revealed all the details of its earlier funding but closed a $3.9m funding round in April 2018 according to a regulatory filing. It said this week it has raised $20m altogether.
