Rogers Venture Partners (RVP), the $150m corporate venturing unit of Canada-based phone operator Rogers Communications, has invested $3.5m in TrustID, a US-based company that helps companies automate their telephone authentication process, as part of a $7m series B round.
RVP joined venture capital firm Trinity Ventures and Norwest Ventures, which was set up by local bank Wells Fargo, in the B round. TrustID previously raised $3m in December 2011, according to its regulatory filing.
Voytek Siewierski, general partner at RVP, said: “We are very impressed with Pat Cox, founder/CEO, and the entire team at TrustID and feel they offer a very unique proprietary solution to an ever growing global market.”
Cox added: “The RVP partners have extensive domain expertise and will be instrumental in helping TrustID expand its customer base”.
