Typesafe secures $14m series B

US-based software startup Typesafe has raised a $14m series B roundfrom a consortium including network infrastructure firm Juniper Networks, which invested through its Junos Innovation corporate venturing fund.

Alongside Junos in the B round were venture capital firms Shasta Ventures, which led the deal, and Greylock Partners with participation from angel investor François Stieger, a former executive at technology companies Verisign and Oracle.

Typesafe has now raised a total $17m in venture funding. In May 2011, the company raised a $3m series A round led by Greylock and including angel investors, such as social network Facebook’s former vice president of growth, mobile and international; Chamath Palihapitiya, database company VMware founders Diane Greene and Mendel Rosenblum; Stieger; and Jeff Huber, senior vice president of commerce and local at Google.

Mark Brewer, chief executive of Typesafe, said: “The new financing will enable us to accelerate the delivery of next-generation developer technologies for the enterprise, continue to rapidly grow the company, and expand our partner ecosystem.”
