Reese Schroeder, formerly managing director of Tyson Ventures, meat producer Tyson Foods’ corporate venture capital arm, has joined insurance firm Allstate’s Strategic Ventures unit as an investor.
Schroeder has been replaced by Erin VanLanduit, who joined Tyson Ventures last month from consumer goods producer SC Johnson where she had spent more than two years as director of business development for new ventures.
Tyson Ventures hired Schroeder in 2017 after a 13-year stint as managing director at communications equipment provider Motorola Solutions’ corporate venturing unit, Motorola Solutions Venture Capital.
During his time at Motorola Solutions and Tyson, Schroeder was included in Global Corporate Venturing’s Powerlist seven times between 2012 and 2019.
Formed in 2015, Allstate Strategic Ventures invests in early-stage developers of technologies relevant to its corporate parent. Its portfolio includes textual analytics software provider Amenity Analytics.
Concerning his new position, Schroeder told GCV: “I am thrilled to join a terrific team and I have the opportunity to leverage my experience in CVC to help the team continue to build a world-class portfolio. I am up for the challenges of learning a new industry and building a strong internal network at Allstate.”
