Upfront Healthcare gets series B backing

US-headquartered patient management platform developer Upfront Healthcare has secured $11.5m in a series B round featuring Echo Health Ventures, the partnership between care provider Cambia Health Solutions and investment firm Mosaic Health Solutions.

Private equity house Baird Capital co-led the round with venture capital firm LRVHealth and it included Nashville Capital Network and Hyde Park Venture Partners.

Upfront has created an online platform that uses data analytics to direct patients to the most suitable treatment options and enables them to book medical appointments. The covid-19 pandemic and the attendant expansion of healthcare facilities has led to an increase in demand for the company’s services.

The company plans to use the cash to expand its sales and marketing capabilities along with product development. It said its total funding now stands at $21.5m, an amount that includes $2.5m from unnamed investors in 2018 and a further $2.4m in September 2019, according to regulatory filings.

Nashville Capital Network had led a $6m series A round for Upfront in 2017 that also featured Echo Health Ventures, Hyde Park Venture Partners, and Martin Ventures.
