US-based synthetic biology technology provider Intrexon Corporation has appointed Joseph L. Vaillancourt, formerly vice president of corporate venturing at waste services provider Waste Management, as its newest senior vice president.
Vaillancourt will also be the head of Intrexon’s environment sector, and will oversee the company’s efforts to develop sustainable, biologically-based technology to counter environmental problems.
Vaillancourt joined Waste Management in early 2006 and spent almost nine years at the company before leaving in December 2014. In addition to his roles at other companies, he also founded advisory firm Venture Enterprises in 2010 and continues to act as its managing partner.
