Vantrix raises $13.5m

Vantrix, a Canada-based mobile content delivery company, has raised $13.5m with backing from Innovacom, a France Telecom-backed venture firm.

The series D round was led by existing investors Summerhill Venture Partners, which was spun out from Bell Canada in July 2007 but still counts the telecoms company and Nortel as limited partners, Tudor Ventures, the venture unit of hedge fund Tudor Investment Management, and venture firm JK&B Capital with participation from Innovacom and venture firms BDC Venture Capital and Entrepia Ventures.

The company’s C round raised $14m in 2010.

Vantrix closed its series B at $12m in September 2007 and its $10m A round in January 2005 when it was known as VoiceAge Networks and in which VoiceAge Corporation had a stake.
