MobileRQ, a US-based mobile app marketing platform, has completed an initial funding round of $800,000 led by Verizon Investments, the venture capital subsidiary of broadband and telecommunications company Verizon Communications.
The funds will be used to complete and launch MobileRQ’s Traveler Platform, which enables travel and hospitality brands to deliver targeted content and messages to customers’ mobile devices in real-time.
Mark Smith, executive director at Verizon, said: “We’re extremely pleased to add our investment in MobileRQ to our portfolio.”
Tyler McKinley, co-founder and chief executive officer of MobileRQ, said on a blogpost: “Verizon has been a key supporter of MobileRQ going back to last summer….both from the investment side and the enterprise solutions side. They are a key partner for us going forward. Travel is a data intensive business – its data is big, diverse, dispersed, and typically very ugly. But when you harness it effectively, you can drive significant value. Hence the merging of mobile and data with our platform. I can’t think of a better partner to have behind us than Verizon when it comes to mobile and data.”
