Vostu gains $12m in New York move

Intel Capital-backed Vostu, a Spanish-language social networking and gaming site based in Brazil, has relocated to New York with $12m in equity funding, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission posted by news provider citybizlist.

Intel Capital originally backed Vostu in mid-2008 as part of a $1.3m seed round and a follow-on investment of $2.6m in November, citybizlist said.

Vostu was launched in Brazil in May 2007 by Daniel Kafie, Mario Schlosser and Josh Kushner while they were students at Harvard University.

Since 1991, Intel Capital has invested more than $9.5bn in over 1,050 companies in 47 countries.
