Rita Waite, a former GCV Rising Stars award winner, has joined Semapa Next, the corporate venture capital arm of Portugal-based industrial conglomerate Semapa.
Waite joined local bank Millennium BCP’s payments team in early 2019 having previously been a venture capital investor for US-based electronics manufacturer Juniper Networks.
Semapa Next invests from series A through to late-stage rounds. Its deals in the past year include taking part in a $50.5m series B round for machine learning technology developer DefinedCrowd in May 2020.
