Payment services firm Visa invested an undisclosed amount in US-based point-of-sale mobile payment technology company LoopPay on Thursday, adding to an undisclosed sum provided earlier this month by General Electric subsidiary Synchrony Financial. LoopPay raised $10m from undisclosed investors in a November 2013 series A round.
US-based mobile health platform developer LifeNexus secured an undisclosed sum of funding on Tuesday in a round led by private equity firm Camden Partners that also included healthcare companies Cambia Health Solutions and Mosaic Health Solutions. LifeNexus is the creator of iChip, a mobile platform that can provide personalised health information and analytics to healthcare providers at point of care.
Internet company Tencent invested RMB 20m ($3.2m) in Ediaxi, a China-based app-connected laundry service operated by laundromat chain Ronchang, Tech in Asia reported on Thursday. Ediaxi, which operates like an Uber for laundry, collects, washes and returns a customer’s clothes within 72 hours. It will invest the funds in expanding from its home city of Beijing.
NexImmune, a US-based biopharmaceutical company developing immunotherapy products, has raised $3m in financing from Pfizer Ventures and Amgen Ventures, the corporate venturing units of pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and Amgen, and venture firm New Enterprise Associates, which led the round. The capital will support pre-clinical development of NexImmune’s first product, a cell that could treat cancer.
Korea-based delivery service Naldo has secured an undisclosed amount of funding from the corporate venturing units of telecommunications company Softbank and wireless technology company Qualcomm. The company, which received an undisclosed sum in its 2013 seed round, will use the money to strengthen its sales, marketing and product development.
Dealflicks, a US-based service that offers movie tickets and snacks for discount prices, has raised $1.7m from investors including Warner Brothers Media Camp, the accelerator run by entertainment company Warner Bros and media company Turner, TechCrunch reported on Monday. Other investors in the round included 500 Startups, Siemer Ventures, Archer Gray, Rubicon VC, Wefunder, Be Great Partners, Rosepaul Investments, Mogility Capital and Sierra Maya Ventures.
Kantar, the data management subsidiary of advertising firm WPP, invested an undisclosed amount in UK-based automated market research startup ZappiStore on Thursday. Founded in 2013, ZappiStore operates in nine countries and plans to enter another 11 in the near future.
Software producer Citrix today selected US-based network software startup 3TEN8 for its accelerator programme, through which it will invest $250,000 in the company. 3TEN8 will also receive a workspace and mentoring over the course of the three month programme and support for the next year.
