Traity, the Spain-based developer of an online reputation database, secured $4.7m in series A funding on Thursday from investors including Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments, the corporate venture capital subsidiary of media company Bertelsmann, TechCrunch reported. The round was led by venture capital firm Active Venture Partners, and also included Horizons Ventures, KRW Schindler Private Ventures, Lanta Digital Ventures and 500 Startups.
Hinge, a US-based app that sources dates and friends through social networks, has raised $4.5m in funding from CAA Ventures, the corporate venturing fund for talent agency CAA, as well as Founders Fund, Lowercase Capital, Lumia Capital, Middleland Capital and Great Oaks, TechCrunch reported on Tuesday. Middleland and Great Oaks previously invested in a $4m series A round that also included Graph Ventures, Militello Capital and Fortify Ventures.
Veros Systems, a US-based developer of industrial asset monitoring software, has raised $3m of new series A funding from Shell Technology Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of oil company Shell, the Austin Business Journal reported on Wednesday. It previously raised $8m in September 2013 from Chevron Technology Ventures, the corporate venture capital subsidiary of energy company Chevron, Austin Ventures and LiveOak Venture Partners.
US-based ultrasound technology developer ZetroOZ has secured about $2m in financing, according to MedCity News. Existing investors include Standard Oil Ventures, which acts as oil company Standard Oil’s corporate venturing fund, Five Point Angels and Connecticut Innovations. ZetroOZ has now raised $6.5m in equity and $300,000 in debt financing, according to SEC filings.
MakersKit, a US-based startup that offers craft kits and attendant tutorials, has raised $1.5m in seed financing at a $6.5m post-money valuation, TechCrunch reported on Tuesday. The money came from BDMI, Tribeca Venture Partners, which led the round, Mesa+, Greycroft Partners and Vayner RSE.
Lab IX, the hardware startup programme operated by industrial manufacturing company Flextronics, invested an undisclosed amount in Atheer Labs, a US-based developer of wearable 3D computing platforms, on Wednesday. Atheer previously raised $1.5m in seed funding in January 2014 from backers including Saba Software co-founder Bobby Yazdani and Rona Holdings co-founder Farzad Naimi.
