Welkin Health, a US-based population health management software provider backed by corporates iKang Healthcare and Mayo Clinic, has secured $17.5m in a series B round led by venture capital firm Altos Ventures.
Investment fund Red Swan Ventures and VC firm Asset Management Ventures both made contributions to the round, as did Thrive Capital, the VC firm that led a $8m series A round for the company in 2017.
Founded in 2013, Welkin Health has developed software that helps healthcare providers manage their patient’s treatments by converting processes defined as best practice into automated workflows. It has now raised $30m in total, it said.
Chase Hensel, chief executive and co-founder of Welkin Health, said: “Our [application programming interfaces] and Workshop tool enable customers to launch quickly, to flexibly plug us into their tech stack and to make changes to their care programs over time.”
Preventive healthcare services provider iKang Healthcare and medical researcher and care provider Mayo Clinic both took part in a $2m seed round for Welkin in 2015, investing alongside Asset Management Ventures, Rock Health, Great Oaks VC and iSeed VC.
