US-based software orchestration technology provider Zededa added $12.5m from investors including corporates Rockwell Automation, Juniper Networks and EDF to a series A round yesterday now totalling $28.5m.
Automation technology producer Rockwell, networking technology provider Juniper and energy utility EDF’s North America Ventures unit supplied the new funding together with existing investors Almaz Capital, Energize Ventures, Lux Capital and H Barton Asset Management (HBAM).
Zededa is developing orchestration technology for use in distributed edge computing. The capital will be allocated to sales and marketing in addition to research and development.
The $16m first tranche was co-led by Energize Ventures and Lux Capital in February 2019 and backed by Wild West Capital, Almaz Capital, HBAM and angel investor Ed Zande – the four investors that had supplied $3.1m in seed funding for the company a year earlier.
