FlatFrog jumps to $6.5m

FlatFrog Laboratories, a Sweden-based touchscreen technology developer backed by semiconductor maker Intel, has raised SEK60m ($6.5m) at a $22.6m valuation, Di Digital has reported.

Venture capital fund Invus led the round, which also featured VC firm Sunstone Capital and company founder Christer Fåhreus. The latter two invested SEK42m in April this year but it is unclear whether that funding formed part of the latest round.

FlatFrog is developing touchscreen technology for and flat displays ranging from 15” to 110” in size. Its InGlass technology uses optical touch rather than the conventional sensor grid method.

Intel’s corporate venturing unit Intel Capital took part in a $10m round for FlatFrog in early 2014 alongside Invus and Sunstone, the same three investors that provided $27m for the company in 2012.

Invus and interactive learning technology provider Promethean had co-led an $18m round for FlatFrog in 2010 that included Sunstone.
