JSR Micro, a US-based advanced materials subsidiary of Japan-based JSR, has made a corporate venturing investment by providing $4.9m to Capstone Metering, according to a regulatory filing.
JSR Micro formed a partnership with Capstone in November 2011 to provide its lithium ion battery to Capstone, which provides wireless water meters.
Eric Johnson, president of JSR Micro, said: “JSR is strongly committed to developing and seeking out green, smart and sustainable technologies and Capstone Metering is a great fit for that vision.”
Capstone won industrial conglomerate General Electric’s Ecomagination award in 2010.
