Solexel absorbs $95m

The solar module manufacturer has now raised more than $200m, after King Saud University joined investors including SunPower, Spirox and GAF.

Agrivida harvests $23m series D

The agricultural biotechnology company has closed its series D round, having closed a $12m first tranche in January this year.

StoreDot raises $18m for electric vehicle division

The specialty materials developer, which has now secured $66m in total, has raised funds from backers including Samsung that will support an electric vehicle battery unit.

IDG crowns $172m Royole series C

Royole, the developer of an ultra-thin flexible display, raised the cash in a round featuring International Data Group’s Chinese venture capital affiliate. 

AgBiome crops up with $34.5m

Monsanto and Syngenta returned as part of a consortium that increased AgBiome’s overall funding to $49m as it prepares to launch a fungicide next year.

GrabTaxi confirms $350m series E

China-based Didi Kuaidi is the surprise investor in its Southeast Asian counterpart, which reports last week suggested was set to raise $400m.

Tata Opportunity Fund takes $100m ride on Uber

Tata, which sponsors the fund, has joined an investor base that as of earlier thus month also includes another India-based conglomerate, Times Group.
